SCHOLARSHIP: Stop the Violence - Dillard University Book Scholarship
Baer Law LLC is a leading negligent security law firm in the region. Because of its negligent security work, Baer Law knows first-hand about the violence problem facing New Orleans. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Dillard University to encourage Dillard students to create proactive solutions to the violence in New Orleans by offering a “Stop the Violence” Book Scholarship.
Introduction
Baer Law handles cases involving victims of violent crime in the Greater New Orleans area. The firm has helped victims and their family members get the compensation they are owed when they are injured because a company fails to provide adequate security. Baer Law wants to encourage conversations about how to improve the crime situation and take proactive steps to find a resolution to the problem. To that end, the firm wishes to engage with the education community to help find solutions to the crime problem.
Baer Law has met with Dillard University representatives to explore opportunities to get higher education involved in the quest to curb violent crime. The firm is interested in partnering with Dillard University to create a scholarship for students who are actively involved in and/or passionate about solving the crime problem. The Baer Law scholarship will entail an essay contest, the topic of which is “A Plan to Stop the Violence in New Orleans.” The recipient will not only win the essay contest, but also be an active participant in a community project (which will fulfill their community service requirement) that is designed to accomplish the same goal.
