The 16th edition of “Leadership in Law” stands as a record of local professionals who have distinguished themselves within the legal industry as well as the larger community. Baer Law congratulates Jason Baer and all of the 2020 Leadership in Law honorees.

A lifelong athlete, Jason Baer said sports taught him the importance of preparation and leaving it all on the field without any regrets. And working as a bartender in college taught him the humility of serving others. He learned how to handle difficult people and situations and how to make everyone feel important.

“These skills have been invaluable in practicing law, as I work with all types of people, and I am able to handle each case as effectively and efficiently as possible.” he said.

A year ago, Baer opened his own personal injury law firm. Previously, Baer was a partner and successful defense attorney at the firm Hailey McNamara. But he eventually realized that his passion was on the plaintiff’s side.

“Opening my own personal injury firm has allowed me to shape my practice and provide the most aggressive, yet ethical practice possible,” he said. “My primary goal is to defend the rights of the underserved.” One of Baer’s specialties is in a unique area of personal injury law called inadequate security, in which he as recovered over $6 million for his clients.

Attorneys throughout the state seek out Baer to co-counsel with them on complex, high-stakes trucking, inadequate security and commercial motor vehicle collision cases.

Baer started the “Stop the Violence” program in 2019 to encourage conversations on how to improve the crime situation in New Orleans.

Baer believes the passion he brings to his practice, combined with his competitiveness and drive to win, are key to his success.

“When I accept a case, my client’s problems become my problems,” he said.
